Imagine if the collective power of Rotarians could do for the awareness of ORGAN DONATION what Rotary has done for the eradication of Polio ?

During the first weekend in May for the past 25 years, runners and walkers have journeyed from the vineyards of the Napa Valley, through Sonoma and Petaluma, across the Golden Gate Bridge near midnight to the beach in Santa Cruz increasing awareness of 125,000 Americans waiting for organs. During the newly named Rotary Golden Gate Relay (RGGR), the transfer of the baton from runner to runner symbolizes the transfer of an organ from donor to recipient.

This is not a fundraiser, there is no monetary "ask" or fundraising goals. FORM A TEAM (Rotary, Rotaract, Interact) to run, bike or walk or we can help you JOIN AN EXISTING TEAM. Distances for all fitness levels.

Rotary clubs along the route are invited to VOLUNTEER on Sat. or Sun., May 2-3. Or wear local Rotary gear and join us along the route and cheer the runners on.

For Rotary, the payoff is unparalleled opportunity for branding, marketing and spreading the word of "Service Above Self" along the scenic 200-mile route through 36 cities. Runners, vans (2 per team), baton exchange locations, start and finish will brandish our Rotary emblem.

Do you know of an organ donor or recipient you’d like us to honor or memorialize? Sonoma Valley Rotary is dedicating our team’s run to remember double lung transplant recipient Mark Hubenette, husband of Rotarian Kimberly Hubenette. A transplant in his 20’s allowed him to have more than 20 active years of additional life and love. We are also honoring kidney recipient Marcie Waldron, wife of Rotarian Dave Waldron. Let's help Marcie find a kidney.
